Director Applied Behavior Analysis master's program (assistant/associate professor)

The Assistant/Associate Professor position in Psychology is responsible for (a) directing the recently created Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis, (b)  teaching courses and/or practicum in the undergraduate and/or graduate applied behavior analysis program within the area of expertise; (c) involvement in service to the community; (d) advisement of undergraduate students; and (e) other responsibilities as identified by the supervisor.

Faculty rank will be dependent on experience and training.

Other responsibilities include:

Ensure faculty meet requirements to teach in a Verified Course Sequence (VCS)

Ensure coursework and practicum meets the VCS standards

Communicate from the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB) and the Association for Behavior Analysis International to the other faculty and Troy University administration about changes in VCS requirements

Participate in and monitor the BACB’s listserv for all VCS coordinators

Oversee submission process for graduate program (coursework and practicum) to become a VCS and subsequently submit annual renewal for both undergraduate and graduate programs

Recruit graduate students

Coordinate potential graduate student applications, interviews, and admission processes

Oversight of practicum experience including ensuring qualifications of supervisors, ensuring the quality of the practicum sites, coordinating individual and group supervision experience and the work load of the supervisors employed by Troy University, arranging contracts/agreements with community supervisors, and maintaining supervision records

Oversight of thesis process

Advise graduate students

Serve as point of contact to students who are interested in both the undergraduate and graduate coursework

Coordinate with department chair to schedule classes for both graduate and undergraduate courses


Minimum Qualifications

1. Doctoral degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education or related field

2. Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

3. Licensed as a behavior analyst (or licensed eligible) in the state of AL

4. Qualified to serve as the VCS and well-versed in VCS requirements for coursework and supervision

5. Approved supervisor of applied behavior analysis field experience
