Registered behavior technician

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA. The RBT's primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide intensive one-on-one therapy to children with ASD and intellectual disabilities 
  • Implement behavior acquisition and behavior reduction plans as outlined by BIP
  • Conduct stimulus preference assessments
  • Collect data
  • Maintain client's program book
  • Develop / create teaching materials
  • Provide basic care to the clients (e.g., toileting, eating)
  • Discuss client's daily progress with parents / caretakers
  • Work with BCBA to implement individualized goals and checklists
  • Maintain respect and confidentiality for all clients
  • Maintain and protect the well-being of all clients
  • Maintain technical and professional knowledge 


  • High school diploma. Bachelor degree preferred
  • Experience with Psychology, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Human Services, or Social Work preferred
  • 40 hours RBT training as required by the Board - BACB (Certificate of Completion)
  • Reliable means of transportation
  • MUST speak English
  • Willing to work with children and adolescents with moderate to severe behavior.

Salary: $18.00 to $25.00 /hour
